Let me break it down:

1. Angie - The Rolling Stones (about David Bowie's wife/girlfriend)
   
2. Layla - Eric Clapton or Derek & the Dominoes (either version) (about George Harrison's girlfriend)
   
3. Peggy Sue - Buddy Holly (about the Cricket's Drummer, Jerry Allison's girlfriend)

See they are songs about someone other than the lead singer's girlfriend. (2 of these were extra-marital affairs between singer and said girlfriend. but we won't go there.)
